HAYFIELD'S UNDERPASS PROJECT 2025

Hayfield Civic Trust supported and donated £500 towards the completion of the successful Underpass Mural Project. Pictures from the archive of Hayfield Civic Trust were used in one of the panels. The local artist Sue Mc Call designed the panels which can now be seen in the underpass from the bus station into Hayfield.

HAYFIELD WELL'S DRESSING

Hayfield Civic Trust supports the Swallow House Lane Well each year by making a donation for the purchase of materials.

SNAPSHOTS OF HAYFIELD'S HISTORY

In October 2024 Hayfield Civic Trust mounted a display of material from their archive in Hayfield Library. Photographs, documents, maps and information leaflets were made available to visitors. The display proved to be very popular and led to a further display and exhibition of materials relating to Hayfield's history at the Annual General Meeting in March 2026.

MEMORIAL RIVERSIDE GARDEN 2021

Hayfield Civic Trust and Hayfield Parish Council jointly funded the improvement of the garden and paving at the Memorial Riverside Garden.

KINDER RESERVOIR CENTENARY 2012

The Hayfield Civic Trust organised a picnic for July 15th to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Kinder Reservoir.

BLUE PLAQUE FOR ARTHUR LOWE 2011

The Hayfield Civic Trust successfully nominated Arthur Lowe of Dad's Army fame for a Derbyshire County Council commemorative plaque.

SNAKE PATH KISSING GATES 2008

In 2008 The National Lottery Awards for All agreed to fund the restoration of the five wrought iron kissing gates marking the field boundaries at the start of the Snake Path in Hayfield.

An ongoing project to look at the changing way of life in and around Hayfield through its buildings and artifacts, based on photographic records and original documentary sources.

CALICO TRAIL 2007

The creation of a short heritage trail around the village to celebrate Hayfield's industrial past. Walk the trail and read about calico printing and Wood Mill in our walks pack; " Hayfield 2 Short Walks ".
BOOTH SHEEP WASH 2004

An award winning project completed in 2004 to conserve Booth Sheep Wash recalling Hayfield's agricultural roots.
